Export of fruit and vegetables increased 13% last year

Export of fruit and vegetables from Turkey increased 13% in volume of merchandise and 17% in value of goods exported last year, comparing to results of year 2007.
For example, production of tomatoes reached 10 mln tons, 8% of global production of tomatoes.
Turkey produces also 25% of world crops of quince, 18% of apricot and 6% of grapes.
What concerns vegetables, Turkey produces 7% of global crops of watermelon, melon and cucumbers.
