The rise in the price of potatoes in Pakistan has not been dammed by government measures.
The upward trend continues for the price of potatoes in Pakistan.
Prices of potatoes remain high (50-55 Rs/kg) while they were at much lower levels a few weeks ago (15-20 Rs/kg).
The government promised to lower prices. The FBR (Federal Board of Revenue), the Federal Board of Revenue has removed some taxes on imports and exports to thin the market. But these efforts seem in vain.
Prices continue to rise under the pressure of strong demand of foreign markets which weighs on the available supply. And movement of speculation hidden but real .
