A good start of the campaign for strawberries and raspberries from Huelva.

According to the report of the 2020/2021 for red fruit campaign in Huelva, published by the Observatory of Prices of the Junta de Andalucía, the prices of strawberries and raspberries in this campaign are higher than last season.

Strawberry. The first weeks of December started with limited volumes, which did not reach 1.000 kilos. However, at week 51, the campaign recovered, with amounts that mean greater relevance within the sector, according to the companies that collaborate in the Prices and Markets Observatory.

The price of strawberries at week 51 in the last campaign was 3.44 euros per kilo, while in 2019/20 it was 4.39 euros per kilo, and in 2018/19 - 5.56 euros per kilo.

The price of strawberries in week 3 in 2021 was 3.25 euros per kilo, which is 29 percent higher, compared to the 2019/20 campaign (2.51 euros per kilo), and 33 percent higher than the 2018/19 campaign (2.44 euros per kilo).

Raspberry. After the reduction of prices in late October and during the first weeks of November, raspberries recovered at the end of the same month, with a positive evolution not only in the coming weeks, but in weeks 49-53 and in the first week of January 2021.

The latest average prices corresponding to weeks 48-53 of 2020 and week 1 of 2021 show a positive evolution above the prices registered in the last season - with an increase in prices that are around 12 percent in week 48 and 38 percent in week 51, although, with values ​​below those achieved in the 2017/18 and 2018/2019 campaigns.
