3 new ports will allow Turkey to strengthen its capacity of expedition.
Three new seaports become projects of priority infrastructures for the next years.
To strengthen the capacity of export of the country, 3 new ports will be situated in:
- Candarli, province of Izmir;
- Mersin;
- Filyos, province of Zonguldak.
The feasibility studies are already finished for both first ones, and that for the port of Fylos will soon be ended.
The amount of the investments for the port of Candarli is estimated at 185 million euro, the port with containers of Mersin in 370 million euro and that of Fylos in 500 million euro.
These 3 new finished ports will allow the extension of the trans-European network of transport. The exchanges with the EU should double before 2020, and with its position, Turkey plays an important role in the interconnection between European Union, Middle East, Caucasus, Mediterranean Sea, Aegean Sea and Black Sea.
