Organic production in Turkey

Turkey starts to develop the organic production. The distribution of the products begins only now, but the marketing is done by the retail chains MIGROS and REAL in ANKARA , ISTANBUL and IZMIR. In regard to production and export, real advances are being done.   

Mr Taner Bugay, from company Tarek Tarimsal, one the biggest exporters of organic products, explains that since 2003, more and more growers set to organic production. Over 11 members supply them with citrus fruit, what enables the company to export about 450 tons of lemons, 200 tons of grapefruit, 150 tons of oranges and 170 tons of clementines .

Since the beginning of this year, his company started importing mainly organic exotic products to provide the purchasing groups.
