UNPT prepares its 16th Congress

The UNPT (National Union of Potato Producers) is preparing its next Congress where nearly 300 participants representing the entire sector are expected.

 

 

 

This 16th Congress will take place on February 4 and 5, 2019 in Strasbourg. February 4th is reserved for the UNPT Delegates and the 5th is open to all participants.

 

 

 

Every year, the UNPT Congress attracts leaders from different sectors, who find a unique opportunity to join the potato industry, to exchange and thus create business opportunities.

 

 

 

In France the potato sector represents:

 

- 175 000 hectares cultivated with potatoes (plants, early vegetables, conservation and starch) by 16 500 producers,

 

- More than 7.2 million tons produced,

 

- 1st producing country in Europe (in value)

 

- 1st exporting country in Europe (more than 2 million tonnes exported)

 

- Turnover of the sector: more than 1.7 billion euros / year.
