In 2012 the tonnage of Rungis arrivals amounted to 751,678 tons, a slight decrease -1.7% compared to the previous year. Arrivals of Fruits reached 371,282 tons (- 1.9%) and arrivals of Vegetables 380,396 tons (- 1.5%).
Pears have accused the strongest arrivals decrease (- 21% to 15 000 tonnes), with some exotic fruits like pineapple (- 33%), pomelos (- 19%) or bananas DOM-TOM (- 23%). Instead, Rungis has hosted many more oranges and clementines from Spain (nearly 7,500 additional tons), lychees and mangoes (1 000 tonnes).
Arrivals of tomatoes decreased by 6,000 tonnes (origin France, Spain and others), those of zucchini, cucumbers and aubergines fell by 2 000 tonnes. Conversely, the arrival of potatoes increased (nearly 4700 tons more), such as squash and pumpkins (almost 2 additional 000 tonnes).
