Tosca presents pallet made from 100% recycled plastic at Fruit Attraction 2026

Tosca is showcasing its Circular Pallet (CP1208) at Fruit Attraction 2026 in Madrid. Developed together with Cabka, the pallet is made entirely from recycled plastic and is designed for repeated use in fresh produce supply chains.

The companies say the new solution can help growers, packers and retailers improve transport efficiency, product protection and handling safety while preparing for changing EU packaging rules.

Built for fresh produce logistics

The CP1208 measures 1200 × 800 mm, matching the standard European pallet size. It can be integrated into existing handling and automated storage systems, depending on equipment requirements.

Its design includes rounded skid edges to reduce damage during forklift handling. Special grooves on the pallet surface hold Tosca's reusable plastic crates in place without additional strapping, allowing stable double-stacked transport.

The pallet also supports RFID technology for tracking assets and improving visibility throughout the supply chain.

Easier cleaning and safer handling

Made from a specially developed blend of 100% recycled plastic, the CP1208 has a non-porous surface that is easy to clean. Drainage holes help prevent water accumulation, while its splinter-free construction reduces the risk of product damage.

The pallet is also more than 4 kg lighter than traditional wooden pallets.

Integrated handles, anti-slip features and improved stability are intended to make manual handling easier in packing stations, warehouses and distribution centres.

According to Laurent Le Mercier, EMEA President at Tosca, these features can help companies reduce physical strain on workers while maintaining efficiency in busy logistics operations.

Preparing for EU packaging rules

Tosca designed the pallet with the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) requirements in mind.

The CP1208 can be reused, repaired and recycled at the end of its service life. Through Tosca's pooling system, businesses can use reusable pallets without having to manage every stage of their lifecycle independently.

Alex Masharov, CEO of Cabka, explained that the partnership combines Cabka's recycled-plastic engineering expertise with Tosca's experience in pooling and asset management.

The companies see the pallet as a way to reduce packaging waste while maintaining the durability needed for fresh produce transport.
