Incomes of banana exports increased by 25%

Guatemala has registered an increase of 25% for the value of its banana exports.
The Bank of Guatemala announced an increase of 25% in 2013 for the income of banana exports.
Banana exports totaled 623.4 million US$ in 2013 or +25% compared to 499.8 million US $ recorded in 2012. The export volume increased by +21% during the same period. The United States is the main destination of these exports, with 95% of the total invoice.
These figures for 2013 put the banana as the 4th export product of the country, apparel (1,270 million US$), sugar ( 941.9 million US$) and coffee (714.5 million US$).
