Brazil’s 2025/26 orange contracts still pending as harvest nears

For now, only small volumes are being delivered under earlier contracts or through spot market deals.
Orange juice contracts for the 2025/26 season in Brazil remain undefined as of the end of May. Fundecitrus estimated a larger-than-expected crop of 314.6 million 40.8-kg boxes, prompting the industry to delay contract finalizations. Agreements between processors and growers are now expected to be signed from mid-June onward.
Since most of the harvest will come from the second blossoming, large-scale picking will likely start after July. For now, only small volumes are being delivered under earlier contracts or through spot market deals. Orange prices at the industry level saw minimal variation during May.
Delivered fruits have shown improved quality, requiring fewer oranges to produce the same amount of juice. This increase in juice yield is attributed to favorable weather conditions. No major disruptions have been reported in the early fruit supply. The sector continues to monitor timing and volumes closely ahead of peak harvest activity.
