Ecuador and Russia strengthen their cooperation

At the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum which has just taken place in Quito (Ecuador) , a new agreement was signed between Ecuador and Russia.
Signed by the presidents of the parliamentary assemblies of each country, the agreement seeks to promote political and trade relations. Russia says it wants to invest in the energy sector (oil) and mining in Ecuador as well as increase its imports of food products.
According to the Central Bank of Ecuador , Russia imported in 2013 for about US $ 816 million of Ecuadorian products. Russia was the largest importer of non- oil products in 2013, for an amount of US $ 604.2 million . An amount that should make further progress in the future.
APPF ( Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum) brought together delegations from Russia, Australia, Malaysia , Cambodia, Chile, South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Mexico , Micronesia , New Zealand , Peru, Singapore, Vietnam and Canada.
