United Kingdom
Sunday 19 October 2008
The Western International Market, one of the principal wholesale markets in the London area, was built in 1974 to answer to the retailers' and caterers' demand for fresh fruits and vegetables. Strategically placed very close to the Heathrow airport, on an 86 acres site, it has throughout the years become one of the most famous wholesale markets in the UK. Since Monday 7 July 2008, the wholesale market has moved a few yards from its old site into new state-of-the-art buildings. For more information, visit www.westerinternational.co.uk
