Andalusia holds 52% of Spanish organic surfaces

The first region in Spain, Andalusia has 949,025 hectares of organic farming, second, Castilla-La Mancha just over 307,000 hectares.
Andalusia is strong leader for organic farming in Spain.
The Andalusian authorities announced that the region in 2012 counted 949,025 hectares in organic farming 52% of national areas. Andalusia also has 10 180 operators and 1,250 industrial activities related to this form of production.
The presented plan (Agricultura Ecologica 2014-2020) aims to increase growth in this sector despite the current difficult economic conditions.
