A new brand for bananas and pineapples by GF Group

Interesting challenge for GF Group that, after a 35-year partnership with Del Monte, undertakes a new adventure by marketing directly bananas and pineapples in Italy, Spain, France and Mediterranean Basin from January 2012.
The group, strengthened by this remarkable experience of distribution, direct production, logistics, shipping and well-established contacts, will launch a new brand of quality products, high-end, coming out with this new brand - the name hasn't been decided yet - and probably also with large distributors' brands.
In this way, GF will be able to provide customers and consumers from the whole Mediterranean Basin with excellent quality fruits, coming from productions that are directly controlled in Costa Rica and Colombia, and to guarantee control, logistics and respect for social ethics.
It is expected to turn to the market with volumes similar to the previous ones (250 000 000 €/year for about 16 -17 000 000 fruit boxes), maybe slightly lower.
In the press conference devoted to this important news, Mr. Orsero, President and CEO of GF Group, ends by communicating that the holding is ready and motivated, it has the experience of a multinational company, but the market approach will build on the experience gained over many years of distribution, that is, without focusing almost completely on the product, and of course with more flexibility, when compared with the constraints of volume and other, previously imposed.
