Decline in exports to the European Union

Decline in total exports and increase in exports of agricultural products.
For the first five months of the year, overall exports from Peru to the European Union fell by 21.4% in value. The EU has reduced its demand for traditional Peruvian products (minerals, gas, oil and derivatives, fishing).
On the contrary, exports of agricultural products increased by 7.7% over the same period. The products most exported to Europe: avocados, mangoes, fresh asparagus, canned asparagus, bananas, fresh grapes.
Recipient countries in Europe have reduced the volume of imports from Peru: Spain (-6.4%), Germany (-9.5%), Italy (-15.8%) , the Netherlands (-6.1%), Belgium (-12.8%), the UK (-46.9%), France (-15.8%).
