Between January and November 2021, the Peruvian agricultural sector increased 2.9%, compared to the same period in 2020, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri).
Among products that impacted this rise are blueberries, whose production rose +28.5% due to an increase in planted area in Ica, Lambayeque and La Libertad; avocado, +15.2%, also due to a greater surface area in these same departments, and grapes, +13.6%, due to a greater surface area in Piura, Ica and Lima.
In addition, the production of hard yellow corn increased +11.6%, due to the greater area planted and harvested in San Martín, Lima and Ica; mandarin, 8.5%, due to the larger cultivated area in Lima and Arequipa; and potato, +3.7%, also due to the larger surface in Lima, Puno and La Libertad.
