Net decline of the Spanish almond production -35.24% announced.
The lowest harvest since 2004 in Spain.
AEOFRUSE (Asociación Española de Organizaciones de Productores de Frutos Secos y Algarrobas) and several agricultural organizations announced campaign 2013 weak.
Production of 29,857 tons of almonds, or a decline (-35.24%) compared to the previous year which had amounted to 46,103 tonnes. The harvest in 2013 is the weakest since 2004 and even by -30% lower than the average of the period 2008-2012.
This low production is consecutif to several combined problems : frost, rain during flowering, pollination issues, the presence of parasites and fungi.
