Agricultural rebound driven by ideal climate conditions.
Peru's mango production soared in January 2025, reaching 196,297 tonnes, a 532.2% increase compared to the same month last year, according to national statistics agency INEI. Favorable weather in the north boosted yields, with Lambayeque and Piura accounting for 93% of national output.
Grape production also rose by 10.8%, totaling 250,966 tonnes, driven by optimal temperatures. The Ica region alone produced 86.3% of Peru’s grapes, with significant surges in Lambayeque and Piura.
Potato production grew 9% year-on-year, reaching 290,914 tonnes, thanks to regular rainfall and good growing conditions. Huánuco, Ayacucho, and Cusco were among the top contributors.
