In Russia yellow pitahaya is a new fruit for consumers.
Russian consumers can appreciate for some weeks the exotic fruits from Ecuador.
The Russian market has already received about 600 kilograms of passion fruit, granadilla, pitahaya (Palora variety) and sweet cucumbers. The yellow pitahaya of Palora variety is a fruit considered new among Russian consumers.
According to the Central Bank of Ecuador, in 2017, pitahaya exports amounted to 1,811 tons and reached a total of 11.91 million USD. In 2018 since the beginning of the year already 561 tons were exported, representing 3.49 million USD.
