Very positive balance for export/import value

After some difficult years for the export/import balance in the Italian fresh produce industry, the figures for 2006 are showing very good results with regard to total trade value. Turnover of the Italian export in November 2006 exceeds total cost of import by about Euro 119.000 mln in comparison with November 2005. Fresh vegetables and fruit have contributed to this result, even if fruit export volume has decreased mainly with regard to table grapes and stone fruit (almost 100K MT lower volumes).
