Udine: logistics platform and planned development of the export eastward

The new facilities of the wholesale market of Udine have just been inaugurated.

The president of the region, Debora Serracchiani, inaugurated the new facilities. The wholesale market of Udine has a new entry (with multiple pathways in 2 directions), a weighing service, and refrigerated 3,300 m2 logistics platform. The investment amounts to 8,000,000 €.

The wholesale market of Udine (165,000 m2) treated in 2013 more than 70 000 tons of fruits and vegetables and expects to exceed 90,000 tons this year and 100,000 tons in 2015. This expected growth is now possible with the new facilities that will allow to increase exports.

Udine, by its strategic geographic position in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region (Friuli Venezia Giulia), can easily develop the trade with Eastern Europe and the Balkans. Become a center of reception, processing and redistribution of local production.
