Taiwan to block Aussie veggies

Taiwan is trying to restrict imports of some Australian vegetables because of biosecurity concerns. They're planning to ban root crops like potatoes and onions that can carry a disease called burrowing nematode.
Carrot exports out of Western Australia, potato exports from South Australia, and onions from Tasmania could all be affected.
Ian James, from Ausveg, says Australia has three weeks to put together an argument to counter the restrictions. Taiwan argue that they're tightening up all their phytosanitary requirements and that they are doing it in regard to WTO rules but we're not sure whether this is actually the case or whether it's a trade barrier against Australia and exports of vegetables” he said.
