Increase in volume and value for Spanish exports in the first half

The Spanish F & V sector recorded volume and value increases for its exports in the first half of 2017.
According to the data processed by FEPEX, exports of fresh Fruit & Vegetables totaled 7.53 billion euros in the first half of 2017, an increase of 6.04%. In volume terms, exports increased by 1.99% to 6,881,884 tonnes.
In the case of vegetables, exports totaled € 3,348 million, an increase of 8.35% over the same period in 2016. The volume of exports decreased by 3.49% to 3,077 tonnes.
For fruits, exports totaled € 4,181 million, up by 4.26% compared to the same period in 2016. The volume grew by 6.91% over the period. The only month of June recorded a jump of + 14% of the volume exported.
