In Croatia the production of fruits and vegetables in 2018 was satisfactory, despite some contrasts according to the products (for mandarins + 156% but for cucumbers -37.9%).
According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (DZS) the production of mandarins 2018 increased by 156% over the previous year to 48 678 tons. Other increases in plum production (+ 77.6% to 14,578 tonnes), apple production (+ 63.5% to 92,476 tonnes), pear production (+ 29.1% to 3,609 tonnes) , the production of figs (+ 32.2% to 1 220 tonnes).
Decreases were observed for fisheries and nectarine production (-53.3% to 3,451 tonnes), cherries (-5.3% to 9,661 tonnes), strawberries (-16.7% to 2,674 tonnes). ).
In the case of vegetables, increases were recorded in the production of cauliflower and broccoli (+ 19% to 2,066 tonnes), cabbage (+ 12.2% to 39,612 tonnes), lettuce (+ 35.6% to 8,014 tonnes), onions and garlic (+ 31.5% to 27,321 tonnes). Decreases were observed in the production of tomatoes (-25.1% to 30,894 tonnes), cucumbers and gherkins (-37.9% to 6,600 tonnes), peppers (-6.5% to 18,054 tonnes) and carrots (-14.4% to 11,709 tonnes).
