The strawberry sector in loss

The last campaign of the strawberry sector of Huelva, in Spain ends with negative figures. Indeed, the sector shows losses of 64 188 081 euros. The main reasons to this situation are the bad weather conditions, in particular heavy rains, as well as the competition from Morocco. The total production this year is 237 000 tons with 7 120 of hectares cultivated. At the time of harvest, not only weather did not help the producers, but also the lack of labour.
