The group Idyl is engaged in the research and development of fungal origin of biological control agents to protect crops from pests.
Supporting Marie-Stéphane Tranier, doctoral student of Environmental Biotechnology, who presented a thesis on the production of biological control agents. The mission of Marie-Stéphane Tranier consisted in the development of alternative environmentally friendly control method for controlling the misdeeds of the main pest of tomato crops.
With the development of a new medium formulated from filamentous fungi biocontrol taken from the places of culture, and its large-scale production starts. This involved several steps (isolation of strains, determining their effectiveness, development, selection, cultivation and multiplication) and setting up test campaigns on Idyl Group tomato production sites in Morocco.
A new process was developed and four prototypes protected by 3 patents have been manufactured and are currently under commercial development.
