Increase of activity for Valparaiso port

The earthquake and its consequences will not impact negatively on the port of Valparaiso.

 The Port of Valparaiso has increased its activity by 27.3% for 2010 and remains the busiest port for goods in the central region of Chile.

 The total traffic of the year is of 10,151,122 tons of cargo and 878,000 containers (TEUs or 20-foot containers).

 This increased activity also crowns an improvement in efficiency. The time spent by trucks in the port has been reduced by 65% on average between 2008 and 2010.
