Géant plans to open 35 stores in Gulf countries

Géant, the French hypermarket chain, plans to open 35 new stores across the Gulf countries within the next three years.

Retail Arabia will launch five hypermarkets and 30 smaller stores across its more important regional markets: Bahrain, the UAE and Kuwait and Other markets are planned: Qatar and Oman.

The chain saw a 35 % growth compared with the year before, and  estimates another 30 % growth for the next year.

The chain is also considering a plan to deploy convenience stores. Retail Arabia currently operates 3 hypermarkets and 8 supermarkets in  Bahrain, UAE and Kuwait, and 15 other stores under the name Gulfmart.
