Expected rise of almond harvest

The California almond harvest will be higher than last year.
ABC (Almond Board of California) estimates that the harvest this year will exceed 2 billion pounds (2,000,700,000 pounds) nearly 1 million tons (907,502 tons). This estimation is higher than the harvest of last year, it is based on the figures provided by producers in April. A final estimate will be released in early July, the harvest will begin in August.
The almond is the most exported agricultural product in California that cultivates about 75% of the world production of almonds. California currently has 800,000 acres of almond trees (324 000 ha) and increases its surface of about 6000 ha annually.
