Willing to reduce ripening energy consumption? Ask Cold Energy

Cold Energy is coming back to Fruit Logistica 2023 to promote its latest development, RESS ripening energy saving system. The key benefit of the technology is helping to save up to 35% on energy costs, and thus reducing levels of CO2 produced for the ripening process.

 

It is a special software linked to the variable frequency drive (VDF) and to a ripening controller, such as Proba or similar ripening processors. It reduces the speed of the fans, without any negative impact on the ripening quality. 

 

Recently, Cold Energy installed the novelty solution for Compagnie Fruitiere, a fruit supplier from Strasbourg, France. According to Olivier Marty, Compagnie Fruitiere Operations Director, the investment is already paying off. 

 

“Like everyone in the industry, we faced the sharp energy cost increase, and the solution offered by Cold Energy was crucial. The company’s RESS ripening energy saving system helps us adjust fans speed depending on the gap between the real temperature in the ripening rooms and the set point. Now we see an improvement, since 30-35% of energy is saved.”, says Olivier Marty.
