An apple is born: ALTESS
The SICA Pom’Alpes launches a new variety of apple, called ALTESS.
"It's a yellow coloured apple, various factors make it different from other varieties" said Mr Clos. This apple is extremely firm, crunchy and very sweet, with added vitamins but its main characteristic is to remain white after being cut when other varieties get dark.
ALTESS grows in the Alps of Haute Provence department (04). The SICA Pom'Alpes is the exclusive producer of this variety in all South-East area.
The ALTESS variety is exclusively marketed in France, Spain and Belgium by the SICA Pom'Alpes.
This year, 65 tons of apples were harvested and for the next season is forecast 120 tons.
We wish long life to the ALTESS.
