Production of over 550,000 tons

A 2015 net increase output including the Royal Gala variety ( 28 % of total production), Braeburn variety ( 20%) and the variety Jazz ( 9%).

2015 apple production in New Zealand is much higher than 2014.

"Pipfruit New Zealand" ad provide a total production of over 550 000 tonnes of apples . Totaling well above the 2014 production was 488,000 tons attent.

Increased production driven by new plantations beginning production . Nationally acreage increased by 200 hectares , or 2% . There are significant increases surfaces for variety " NZ Queen ," " Envy ," " Honey Crisp ", " Rockit " and milder varieties for "Royal Gala ", " Fuji " and " Pink Lady ".

According to the organization, levels of exports will be similar : just over 300 000 tonnes. The bulk of exports go to Asia (33%) and Europe (28% ), followed by North America ( 16%) and the United Kingdom and Ireland ( 14% counting from continental Europe).
