From 1 June 2012, certified organic products in Europe or the United States may be sold as organic on both sides of the Atlantic.
The EU and U.S. have reached an historic partnership on organic products.
The European Union and the United States have announced that from 1 June 2012, certified organic products in Europe or the United States may be sold as organic in these two regions.
This partnership between two leading global producera of the organic sector
will establish a solid foundation for organic agriculture, providing benefits to growers and support jobs and businesses worldwide.
In the United States and the European Union, the organic sector is valued at about €40 billion, a figure that is increasing each year.
