Due to bad weather conditions, grapes production will be in decline.
The Ava Asaja (Association of Valencia producers) considers that grapes production will decrease this season.
Compared to the previous season, grapes production is going to fall of 40 % in Utiel-Requena and 20 % in Valencia. Weather conditions, thunderstorms and hail strongly disrupted growth of fruits.
But according to Ava-Asaja, this decrease in production, associated with an excellent quality, could contribute to improve market prices.
In the region of Utiel-Requena, production should reach 160 million kilos. The rest of Valencia counties will produce approximately 50 million kilos.
