After starting to export cherries to China last year, Turkish producers will be able to ship apples to Thailand.
The Thai Ministry of Agriculture has agreed. Turkish apples will be able to enter Thailand. This country imports $210 million of apples per year and therefore has great potential.
Currently, apples from Turkey are exported to India, to markets in the Middle East, Europe and Russia. Turkish professionals were looking for new markets, especially in Asia.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic plans have been suspended but are resumed with the gradual normalization process. Turkish professionals say exports of other fruits to Thailand, such as cherries, may follow exports of apples.
