The expertise of Rungis, biggest wholesale market of the world, and international standards for the new market of Ganaur.
An international standard fruits and vegetables market will be developed over an area of 537 acre at Gannaur, about 60 kms from Delhi, in Haryana.
The Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board (HSAMB) and Semmaris Gressard Consultants, France signed a consultancy agreement in the presence of Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda here last Thursday.
Ganaur Terminal Market Complex would be designed and developed by Semmaris Gressard Consultants (Rungis- France).
With a 217 hectare surface, it should receive 7,5 million tons of fruits and vegetables a year.
It would cater to the needs of northern region, especially the States of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Western Uttar Pradesh and would act as an alternative to the Azadpur (Delhi) wholesale fruits and vegetables market.
