Shipments of Chilean peaches and nectarines reached a record $72 million, registering an 18.7% increase in February, marking a milestone for the second month of the year. During the January-February period, these shipments amounted to $2.765 billion, reflecting an increase of 22.7% compared to the same period last year, according to data provided by ProChile.
In addition to fresh peaches and nectarines, which accumulated shipments of $112 million in the first two months of the year, exports of fresh cherries stood out, reaching $1,943 million (+26.4% compared to last year), and fresh blueberries, with shipments of $26 million (+44.2%).
China is positioned as the most important market for fresh fruit exports, with shipments of $1,952 million, representing an increase of +30.6% compared to the same period last year. It is followed by the United States with $ 382 million (+7.3%), the Netherlands with $ 99 million (+10.8%) and the United Kingdom with $ 46 million (+6.3%).
