Record increase of Italian food exports to China.
For the period 2008-2013, the Italian food exports to China have almost quadrupled in a Coldiretti study, published on the occasion of the journey of Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi. Italian exports in 2013 reached € 342 million, up +13% compared to 2012 and +270% compared to 2008.
The most exported products "Made in Italy" are wines, China is becoming the world's largest consumer of the red one, followed by olive oil, cheese and fruits.
Fruits and vegetables represent a small proportion of these exports, given the difficulties of customs barriers but can still grow, because of sustained demand of Chinese upper class for quality products.
