State of Chihuahua prepares for onion season

Until March 2022, in the agricultural district near the Florido River in Chihuahua (Mexico) that includes the municipalities of Jiménez, López and Coronado, 265 hectares of onions have been planted, however, the season for cutting the bulb is not yet started, according to data from the Fisheries Agrifood Information System (SIAP).
During the agricultural year that corresponds to 2021, in this same district, they planted a total of 582 hectares of onions, of which 582 hectares were harvested with a production of 40.135 tons, according to SIAP.
In 2021, Chihuahua was the leading onion producing state in Mexico, with a total of 295.881 tons, according to SIAP.
