Russia threatens to ban Polish products
FJ
Threat to Polish exports of fruits and vegetables to Russia.
Rosselkhoznadzor, the service of the Russian sanitary inspection, informed the Polish state of a possible limitation of exports and re-exports. Rosselkhoznadzor may impose restrictions because of health risks.
In 2012 and for the first 9 months of 2013, Rosselkhoznadzor counted 21 cases of Polish products contaminated with products subject to quarantine in Russia. Since the beginning of 2013, over 900 cases of non-compliance with international standards for phytosanitary documents produced.
After receiving information deemed unreliable, Rosselkhoznadzor emphasizes that limitation may be imposed unless the Polish take steps on their side to export products in full conformity.
