Organic certification on the way

Certification "Made in Morocco" for organic products is on the right track.

The decrees of the specific law on organic production are about to be validated. This legislation promulgated in early January 2013 is consistent with international standards. It establishes the distinction between biological and non-biological, procedures for producers, control conditions and certifications.

This legislation will allow the recognition of Moroccan organic products to export and will stimulate the production. Organic agriculture occupies an area of ??5,000 hectares (figure 2011-2012), the production of organic fruits and vegetables is 50 000 tons, exports in 2012 reached 13,000 tons.
