To increase capacity and improve its competitiveness, the fruit terminal at the Autonomous Port of Abidjan, has inaugurated a new facility.
A complex of cold rooms with an area of 2926 m2 and a capacity of 1,600 pallets. The technical platform consists of a room charge of 312 m2 with handling electrical appliances to avoid pollution.
Of a total of 2 billion FCFA, the new infrastructure has received funding from the European Union. For Christophe Barthelemy, Director General of the League of handling agricultural products (WSPA) exports resume "We went from 170,000 to 210,000 tons today. I think in years to come, there will be 250,000 tons, especially as this new structure will improve our capabilities."
Abidjan is the only port in West Africa to provide infrastructure development to hold in cold storage 1600 pallets of fruit.
