The Port of Antwerp will organize the next European conference on container transport in Antwerp. The conference named Container Trade Europe will be held on October 20 and 22, 2020.
The event, co-organized with JOC (Journal of Commerce), is primarily aimed at shippers from various sectors of the economy who are highly dependent on container and shipping services, seaports and ground transportation.
"Container Trade Europe is taking place at a time of significant change in container transport and international logistics in general," said Peter Tirschwell, vice president of maritime and commercial activities at IHS Markit. "The consolidation of carriers has fundamentally changed the dynamics between shippers, carriers and freight forwarders. There is a competitive struggle using technology and new business models to better meet the demands of shippers. The fight against climate change is also part of it. "
The port of Antwerp treated 11.1 million TEU in 2018 and paves the way for the use of innovative technologies.
