Apofruit installs solar panels
Apofruit has launched a major restructuring to combine environmental protection and energy savings by installing solar panels on the roofs of its facilities.
Apofruit has installed 20,000 m2 of photovoltaic panels with a capacity of 2 MW. Its capabilities fulfil the energy needs of 4% of the population of Cesena. The reduction of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere is the equivalent of 1,200 fewer vehicles in circulation.
The facilities have required an investment of 8.5 million euros. According to Apofruit plans, this covers 25% of energy needs of the group, and will cover 50% in the near future. Apofruit has 12 plants and six storage centres throughout Italy.
