Argentina plays a fundamental role in international food trade. The recent Monitor of Agroindustrial Exports of the Agricultural Foundation for the Development of Argentina (FADA) highlights five export products in which the country leads the global ranking.
Peanut or groundnut occupies the first place in foreign trade in its field. It is a grain from the south of Córdoba. Around 22% of the peanuts that are sold in the world are Argentine, according to FADA.
Lemon. The Tucumán-based agro-industrial chain is the largest exporter of lemon essential oil worldwide. Almost 34%, or one of every three tons sold in the world, comes from the Argentine northwest.
Soybean is an Argentine export product that generates more foreign currency for the country. 49% of the global foreign trade of this product is grown in Argentina.
Soy oil. The share of Argentine soybean oil in global trade is around 36%.
Beans, both white and black, are the fifth product with which Argentina leads world trade. 20% of the international trade of the product is Argentine, says FADA.
