Chestnuts production in the Italian region of Piemonte

Chestnut production in the Italian region of Piemonte is developping well.

During the last years,  chestnuts crop has suffered from a disease named CIMIPEDE . To cope with that insect, another insect is successfully used in the woods.

This year however, production is slightly down comparing to 2007. This is a consequence of the bad weather. Quality is - according to tprofessionnals - much better.
