Iran is on track to become No. 1 pomegranates worldwide

Iran provides rich crops that would be worth to him the position of No. 1 worldwide in the production of pomegranates.

The Ministry of Agriculture provided up to 1 million tonnes of pomegranates crops this year. In the country more than 62,000 hectares of pomegranates are grown. Last year production totaled 940 000 tons of pomegranates.

Only 10,000 tonnes of pomegranates were exported, mainly to China, the Persian Gulf states and Europe. The new market of South Korea should open this year to Iranian pomegranates.
