Expanding Your Business Opportunities in Canada with One of North America's Most Unique Trade Associations!
If you are buying, selling or marketing fresh fruits and vegetables, within the Canadian marketplace, or support the Canadian produce industry in any way, you will benefit from the services and programs offered by the Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA). In an effort to support the whole produce supply chain, members benefit from participation in our annual convention and education programs, by utilizing such services as label review, our food safety training tool, or on-line business-to-business networking; or by our promotional material, issue alerts and industry communications and much more. Please find below information on our association which outlines further benefits of being a part of CPMA.
CPMA is a not-for-profit organization representing companies that are active in the marketing of fresh fruits and vegetables in Canada from the farm gate to the dinner plate. CPMA members include major growers/packers/shippers, importers/exporters, carriers, brokers, wholesalers, retailers, fresh cut and foodservice distributors, integrating all segments of the fresh produce industry. CPMA is proud to represent over 670 international and Canadian members who are responsible for 90% of the fresh fruit and vegetable sales in Canada at an estimated value of $8 billion Canadian. CPMA is funded by the industry through voluntary membership and various services, activities and sponsorship programs.
Since its inception in 1925, CPMA has been there to support the industry’s needs, answer questions, resolve issues and provide professional services at all times. CPMA continues to work to resolve and minimize trade barriers and irritants, while defending and promoting the safety and significant contribution vegetables and fruits make to a healthier lifestyle. Over the course of the past year, CPMA has tackled many issues such as: coding and traceability, food safety, labelling issues and plant health.
CPMA represents companies involved in the fresh produce supply chain in Canada and hosts Canada’s leading produce show. This boutique-style event combines an intimate social atmosphere & business programs, providing an unparalleled networking opportunity. Be sure to join us May 14-16, 2008 in Calgary!
Working on behalf of our members, for over eighty years, CPMA has delivered value to its members and to the industry at large. Promoting the value and importance of the produce industry is a core focus. With so many challenges on so many fronts affecting the whole supply chain of our industry, there has never been a more important time to support the collective action of this association.
