Peru ginger exports reach $17 million in early 2026

Peru exported 10,535,268 kg of ginger (kion) in January–February 2026, generating $17,023,184 FOB at an average price of $1.62 per kg, according to the latest report by Agrodata Peru.
In February 2026, shipments totalled 5,404,146 kg worth $9,013,107, with an average price of $1.67 per kg. This compares with 4,045,377 kg valued at $9,938,878 in February 2025, when the average price was $2.46 per kg.
In January 2026, exports reached 5,131,122 kg valued at $8,010,077, with an average price of $1.56 per kg, up from 3,120,575 kg worth $7,453,807 in January 2025, when the average price stood at $2.39 per kg.
The United States remained the leading destination, accounting for $11,393,886 or 67% of total export value. Other markets included the Netherlands with $2,411,414 (14%), Canada $1,059,442 (6%), Spain $920,848 (5%), the United Kingdom $500,869 (3%), Germany $116,722 (1%), and other destinations $620,003 (4%).
