Heat wave before the monsoon

India has recorded an exceptional heat wave , with temperatures of about 50 ° C (122 ° F).
In Maharashtra state the thermometer climbed to 49 ° C (120 ° F). In the capital, Delhi, the raised temperatures reached 45.2 ° C (113 ° F) , in Haryana the state schools were closed due to the temperatures of 48 ° C (118 ° F).
The authorities believe that this heat caused the death of about 2,249 people.The monsoon rains and therefore lower temperatures should reach the Indian sub- continent in the coming days.
